Jim Cramer's Mad Money "Number One With a Ballot"

Jim Cramers Mad Money Picks and highlights, plus Jim's Lightning round picks.

03/02/06

The lead segment for today's show was "Number One With a Ballot".

Cramer suggests reading the front page of the New York Times, not just the business section. The front page of the Times ran a story about how the Feds are suing New York for not upgrading their voting machines. Cramer thinks that only Diebold, Inc. (DBD) can solve this problem and this problem isn't only a problem for New York, but many other states.  This is long term investment story.

Grin and Bear It

Build-A-Bear Workshop, Inc. (BBW) isn't a store that Jim likes, but based on the numbers, Jim can't believe the stock is so cheap. Jim thinks in reality that this store is only trading at 13 times earnings and at 9 times next year's earnings. Conventional wisdom says this stock is a fad and Jim thinks it might be, but it's not over yet. So far they have 200 workshops, but Jim thinks they could hit 400 workshops before hitting saturation. This could be a good regional to national growth story. Plus, 60% of sales are from returning customers, which Jim thinks gives BBW some legs.

Under the Radar

Broadwing Corporation (BWNG) was a company that lost a lot of money for many investors, but Jim thinks this company has turned itself around. Jim has hated this company for years, but this company has finally finished the world's first all-optical network. Jim thinks this company is now a huge buy. This stock is now almost debt free and they should have plenty of cash next year.

MARCHEX

The Marchex Inc. (MCHX) CEO was on the show. Marchex helps deliver traffic to online merchants.  Jim gives this company two thumbs way up.
